GENERAL RULES

COPA DEL MAR® & EDA Sport are the organizers of the event.
 

COPA DEL MAR® is your booking & logistic partner
 

EDA SPORTS is our financial partner. The participating teams will pay to EDA SPORTS.
 

All communications between the team and organizers must be done by e-mail to polician@telenet.be and will be handled by COPA DEL MAR.

​

The 2026 event will be organized in Licata - Agrigento – Sicily – (Italy).

It starts on May 05 afternoon and ends after breakfast May 09, 2026.

The organization has the obligation to organize the event as advertised, but keep the right to make changes in the advertised program.

When the organizers should be forced to cancel the event for unexpected reasons, direct on non-direct, they’ve the right to stop the event and return the paid money back to the contenders. This, without a fine or damage-claim. In case of a ‘force-mayor’ (example: hotels bankruptcy, a  virus or nature disaster, etc.) the organization can’t be hold responsible for this. They deal to get the best refund as possible.
 

RULES FOR REGISTRATION AND PAYMENTS

​

(a) To take part in the event, you’ve to buy a “tournament package” (and additional “extra nights”) through and only through the organizers of the event and you need to accept what is included or excluded. That package pays for a total of services, rooms, food, crew, rental materials, etc.

(b) ‘Registration Cost’ is INCLUDED in the tournament package.

​

(c) The price of the package is always the same for player as for non-player.

​

(d) To make your registration valued, you need to :

​

  1. (a) fill in the official Registration Form & e-mail it to polician@telenet.be

      (b) fill in the needed information direct through www.copadelmar.com 

   2.  pay the mentioned down-payment as an advance to block the room(s).

 

If you send a registration without a payment, we do NOT accept your team.

 

We need to receive the DOWN-PAYMENT of € 150 x adult latest 15-10-2025

FULL PAYMENT of the sum must be done before 01.03.2026.

​

​

(e) When we receive more registrations from teams than we’ve guaranteed places in the tournament, we follow the rule “who registered first + paid first will be accepted”. As long as you don’t send us the down-payment, your team has no rights.

Be sure to take ALL bank costs for the payment for your account, because some banks charge also costs to the receiver!

PAYMENT – CANCELLATION RULES & PENALTY COSTS

​

For the tournament package and all extras ordered by you:

- After 01 October 2025, the costs are 10 euro x participant

- After 01 January 2026, the costs are 50 euro x participant

- After 01 March 2026, the costs are 100 euro x participant

- After 01 April 2026, the costs are 50% of the total sum of ALL booked items.

- After 15 April 2026, the costs are 100% - to see as a ‘non-arrival’.

TERMS & CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENTS

BOOKINGS

​

a) COPA DEL MAR® book the rooms in the hotel according the availability. They’re not responsible if there are no rooms available as your request.

​

b) The rule is: first come, first served. The teams who register & pay first will get their rooms first.

​

c) COPA DEL MAR® is not responsible for centralizing the rooms. The hotel does their best but without any guarantee.

​

SOME IMPORTANT RULES

THE EVENTS

​

a) An international 5-a-side outdoor soccer tournament on green carpet, named “COPA DEL MAR 2026

b) An open padel tournament  “COPA DEL MAR - PADEL MASTERS

​

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The players of the team must be employed in a government section (police, customs, fire department, army, private security company, ministry, medics, etc.) or are players directly invited by the organization. This tournament is not for professional teams.

​

HOW TO REGISTER A TEAM?

A team must fill in the registration form which you can find on www.copadelmar.com. All asked info has to be filled in correctly. If faults lead to needed changes in bookings, costs can be charged to the team.

EDA SPORTS/COPA DEL MAR® shall send a confirmation message, that they received the registration and the first payment. After they confirm your team is officially registered.

​

TEAMS

Each team will consist out of minimal 8 persons. 6 have to be able to content the game.
 

There is a max of 14 players per team. There is no max in the total of the group as long it’s reasonable. The rooms for the ‘sport teams’ go before rooms of ‘visitors/supporters’.

 

SAFETY MEASURES (NEW!)
 

(a) COPA DEL MAR® doesn’t accept any responsibility for any injury that isn’t a direct fault or action caused by the organization itself.
 

(b) Each team must have an international sport insurance. As a legal representative of your team, you realize the inherent dangers in this sport. You also accept responsibility for the conduct of your team members. Should one of your players receive an injury, your institution’s international insurance policy should adequately cover costs incurred.
 

(c) If you need a doctor there are cost coming from this action, they will warn you and after an agreement they can do the needed procedures to help you. They will ask to pay the needed cost right away and you’ll get an invoice which you can present to your insurance company which shall cover your expenses.
 

(d) When the injury is so serious that you need to go to the hospital, an ambulance will take you. Costs for this and other medical actions will be paid by your team against an invoice. For all these reasons it is extremely important to have this international sport insurance.
 

(e) Each team should need to take their own needed medical material for small injuries.

(warm ice, wonder-spray, ether, fluids to clean wounds, bandages etc.).

 

THE AGE CATEGORIES OF THE TOURNAMENT & THE RULES
 

(a) you can participate in 1 of the 4 age categories:
 

* OPEN in which there is no age category of the players required. Only a minimal age of 18y.
 

* SILVER 35+ all players must be 35y old or older. (on the date of the start of the tournament)

Exception: max. 2 players who are -35y old (on your TEAM LIST)

But not younger than 30y (on the date of the start of the tournament)
 

* GOLD 45+ all players must be 45y old or older (on the date of the start of the tournament)

Exception: max. 2 players who are -45y old, (on your TEAM LIST)

But not younger than 35y (on the date of the start of the tournament)
 

* PLATINUM 55+ all players must be 55y old or older (on the date of the start of the tournament)

Exception: max. 2 players who are -55y old, (on your TEAM LIST)

But not younger than 45y (on the date of the start of the tournament)
 

(b) The referee, referee coordinator or main organization, may ask the players, mentioned on the PLAYERS LIST for their ID to check the age of a player. For that reason each player which are mentioned on the PLAYERS LIST has the obligation to bring his ID or a copy of the ID with him during the games. If a players is not able to proof his age to the referee, the referee has the right to exclude the player from the matches until he can prove his age!
 

(c) When a team play with more than the registered 2 younger players, that team will be disqualified from the tournament.
 

(d) A player can NOT play in 2 different teams. Even if they play in another category! Another team is another team! Switching players from one to another team is also prohibited! When teams break this rule, the team will be disqualified from the tournament!
 

(e) Complaints of the items a-b-c &d : To avoid incorrect accusations and badgering, a sum of     € 100 need to be handed over to the Admin Table. They shall start an investigation of the complaint. When the fact are correct, the sum will be returned immediately to the team who made the complaint. The incorrect one will be punished. If the investigation has a negative result and all is in order, the sum will be hold by the Organization.
 

(f) A match will always be played, while we investigate. Even direct after the match, a complaint can be made. When the result leads to a prove that the complaint was correct, the results will be adapted by the Admin leader. In case the proved accused team won, the results will be 3-0 for the team which have been proven right.
 

ORDER & PEACE
 

a) The participants will be hold of the internal rules of the hotel. These rules are available at the reception desk. Clearly everyone knows how to behave as a decent person. The hotel is by law, seen as their own house, you only rent a temporary space in it.

b)The organization will accept the rules & decision of the Management of the hotel.

But they’re not responsible for the behavior of the teams.

​

c) Teams need to behave as any normal guest. The hotel (and us) will not tolerate indecent behavior like nuisance of load music or disturbing actions that leads to the lack of rest and peace of other hotel guests. We’ve been informed that some teams think that they don’t need to behave in another country because at home they wear a uniform.

​

d) Alcohol and food which are not bought in the hotel are FORBIDDEN to be showed and consumed in the general spaces, like swimming pools, sport fields, beach, snack bar and restaurants. Everyone with common sense knows that.

​

e) When the hotel decide that you don’t take their advice after issues, they have the right to remove the responsible(s) for this trouble off the premises. For example by extreme aggressive, or drunk behavior, vandalism, extreme hinder of other clients in the hotel, etc. If needed with the help of the local police.

​

f) Any damage to the resort caused by a member of your team need to be paid to the hotel management.

For that the resort shall ask credit cards for guarantee discussions of payment. Team leaders are responsible for the behavior of their members, players or supporters.

 

g) The organizers can do the same when there are issues with a ‘participant’ or ‘team’.

The team leaders are responsible to inform their members in a proper way, about these mentioned rules and what is expected from their team members.

 

PRIVACY RULES

​

All received information concerning emails, phone numbers & addresses will be only used by COPA DEL MAR ® & EDA SPORTS ® to inform you about their events and will be guarded safely. Sure not be used for commercial purposes or sold further to other companies. Joying our tournaments is agreeing to these rules concerning the new privacy rules. Participating in this event, could mean that you will be photographed for use on brochures, website or Facebook news items around this sport event. The privacy of personal data was considerably tightened in mid-2018 and pre-cautions have therefore been taken in accordance with this legislation. For example, almost all photos were commissioned and GDPR legislation was specifically complied with for sports and dance associations. Personal information is not active when you reserve a place for a concert or when people are photographed in a crowd or in a public place. Public persons (eg. politicians, sports stars, singers, etc.) must not, in principle, give prior permission. Specific rules apply, but these are observed. If we have failed to do so and an objection is raised we shall of course be pleased to delete as necessary.
