Since the health of Marc would need extra ordinary measures after the tournament edition in Italy in 2022, we travelled a month before the 2023 edition to a destination that Marc had found.

The area of Retamar/El Toyo is a urbanization that is created by the city of Almeria to host the sport teams for the Mediterranean Games in Spain. After the games the houses have been sold to the citizens (like in the Olympic Games). Only the sport hall and outdoor football field and some enormous golf courts have been kept. At only 4 km from Almeria Airport and 15 km from the historical town of Almeria we found two jewels of hotels. They’re situated, just across the street of the football pitch and at the palmed sized beaches with as their neighbor one of the biggest National Parcs of Spain: Cabo de Gata!
A perfect place to have a tournament.

ALMERIA historical old town at 15 km (bus for €1 in front of the hotels)
CABO DE GATA N.P. at 2 km a walk in the National Park
MOJACAR a famous white mountain village at 45 min drive.
TABERNAS the Hollywood scene of Spain 30 min drive.
MALAGA one of the biggest town of the area with the famous Bull Fight Arena at 2 h drive
GRANADA with his famous EL ALAHAMBRA at 1.45h drive.
